Children aged 5 to 11 years old are free of charge (must be min. 2 adults accompanying). Children 12 and older pay adult price.
This short walk starts and ends at Nkhila Lodge and provides an opportunity to enjoy the stunning desert scenery around camp at your own pace. Choose your time of departure and one of Nkhila's local guides will accompany you on this easy circuit. The scenery is diverse from dry riverbed shaded by dramatic rock formations to a high plateau covered in ancient weathered stones. We enjoy several nice views of the camp and distant Atlas mountains en route.
TYPICAL ITINERARY
0900 Depart Nkhila Lodge; walk to river valley below camp.
0915 Walk south along the dry riverbed and gorge.
0945 Ascend desert hillside to rock-strewn plateau.
1000 Return to camp along the plateau and desert.
1015 Arrive Nkhila Lodge.

DEPARTS ON REQUEST
This short walk operates on request throughout the year on a private departure basis.
DON'T FORGET
Take some warm clothing in winter months as it can be chilly on the plateau.
